Tentacular Thinking

Tentacular Thinking (2024)

Performance with wearable seneory objects

The first series of ‘Tentacular Thinking’ is performed as a solo piece on 30.11 in Neue Musik Zentral in Essen. The performance is showcased as a part of residency programm by GNMR.

Tentacular Thinking is a project inspired by Donna Haraway’s concept in a book ‘Staying with the Trouble’, exploring how perception and knowledge can emerge through the sensory organs of non-human species. It proposes wearable objects that extend human senses with antennas, which translate tactile sensations into acoustic signals. Instead of relying on vision, the performer is guided to move by these signals. These hybrid interfaces blur the boundary between human and non-human senses, inviting a form of embodied cognition rooted in touch, co-creation, and multispecies entanglement.
